The existing building is a traditional harled cottage located in a rural location. The client brief was To create a contemporary living space to replace an existing conservatory structure. The design was carefully considered to maximise daylight into the building while utilising insulation materials in excess of the current building standards. A new woodburning stove was incorporated into the design creating a focal point for the new room. A simple palette of materials were used which included previously utilised black zinc roof and high quality glazing with multi-fold doors.
